China extended safeguard investigation by two more months
The Chinese government announced on Tuesday, November 25, a new extension—this time for two months—in the investigation on safeguard measures to protect domestic beef production, which had been set for November 26.
In a statement, the Chinese authority said that “in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on Safeguard Measures of the People’s Republic of China, on December 27, 2024, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 60 of 2024, deciding to launch a safeguard investigation on imported beef. On August 6, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 38 of 2025, deciding to extend the investigation period until November 26, 2025”.
It added that “given the complexity of this case, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to extend the investigation period again until January 26, 2026”.
